Short Schedule of Events Friday: Opening Ceremonies: 9:50am"The Kid who picked the gold coin" promotion all weekend for young collectors. Chance to win gold coin. Saturday: BSA Coin Collecting Merit Badge *Note: Attend CoinExpo San Jose to complete Requirement 10.b. Arrive in your Class A uniform; you will receive free admission to the show. (Parent chaperones receive a $2 discount off the $6 admission.) Take a look around at the show; talk to the dealers. Report back to your Merit Badge Counselor (see below) on what you learned to complete Requirement 10.b. Your Merit Badge Counselors regret that they could not attend CoinExpo San Jose this spring to run our workshop. We will be at Scout-o-rama at History Park May 9. We will hold our workshop prior to CoinExpo San Jose and cover all but Requirement 10 at our workshop in Los Gatos. Prerequisites for the March workshop: Bring a Blue Card signed by your Scoutmaster. Read the Coin Collecting Merit Badge pamphlet. Get your merit badge pamphlet at the South Bay Scout Shop, https://www.facebook.com/SBSS.5711/ It is recommended that Scouts bring a Red Book, if they have one. One can be purchased at CoinExpo San Jose. There will be some to look at during the workshop. To get sign-off on the Blue Card, each Scout needs to collect and bring the coins required for Requirements 3, 6, 7, & 9 to show the Merit Badge Counselor. Although we will go over the requirements in the workshop, Scouts should be prepared to demonstrate knowledge for Requirements 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, &10.
