Griffin Coins

Griffin Coin Company has been serving the greater Bay Area and its surrounding areas for over 19 years. We specialize in San Francisco Mint gold and silver coins, and also buy and sell all types of gold, silver and rare coins, paper money, and stamps from the U.S. and around the world.

Meet us in our downtown San Francisco office or our new Fairfield office conveniently located near Starbucks in Downtown Fairfield. We're Fairfield's only coin dealer!

What We Do

Buying
We will travel in most cases and offer fair prices for all of your collection. We won't just pick out the gems and leave you with the rest; we will make a fair offer on all your coins
in order to make the process more convenient for you.

Shipping to us is easy. Send to PO Box 1876, Suisun City, Ca 94585. You may not need to purchase postal insurance. We have coverage with Lloyds of London written through our agent, Hugh Wood Inc.

Please call us for details about acceptable methods, values and procedures. This might save you quite a bit of money as postal insurance can take a considerable bite out of the end profit you receive for your coins!

Selling
We strive to offer quality coins at fair prices. Our value proposition dictates that you will

Other Services
Auction: Through my attendance at major coin auctions, I can examine, evaulate, and purchase coins on your behalf and within your budget.

Want Lists: I have access to thousands of coins through major dealers in the U.S. and can achieve excellent pricing to help you achieve all the coins on your want list.

Consignment: I accept coins for sale on a consignment basis, and can get you top dollar for your rarities given my contacts in the coin marketplace.

WORLD COIN & PAPER MONEY SOCIETY

The World Coin & Paper Money Society was formed in 2015 for those who collect all types of gold and silver coins and paper money from any/all countries, with a specific emphasis on world gold coins, ancient coins, and world paper money.

This enthusiastic group has a quarterly meeting in conjunction with Portsmouth Square Company Coin Shows.

If interested in joining, please send an email to scott@griffincoin.com. The cost to join is $15 and comes with a world silver coin. Annual dues are $10 after the first year. A quarterly newsletter is sent out which contains one piece of world paper money.

Portsmouth Square Company

Owner - Scott Griffin
Scott Griffin has been a numismatic professional in the greater SF Bay Area for over nineteen
years. After attending St. Ignatius College Prep in San Francisco, he received his undergraduate degree from
UC Davis and a MBA from Golden Gate University. Scott is an avid golfer
and enjoys spending time with his family when he is not studying coins.

Bourse Coordinator: James Busch
James Busch has been the bourse coordinator at the Old San Francisco Mint Coin Show since its inception in 2009. He manages all facets of the show including electrical, program, dealer relations and staff. James' grandfather was a famous collector in the San Francisco area. James enjoys the history and artistry of coins and still maintains a modest collection himself. He enjoys spending time with his nephews and is a RC car enthusiast. Customer Experience Manager - Andréa Magarrell
Andréa brings more than 20 years of experience and expertise in customer service. She assists with the day-to-day operations & show operations of the company. Andréa strives to build trust and strong long term relationships with Griffin Coin / Portsmouth Square Co. customers. She loves the game of basketball (Heat Fan) and is very active with several community sports programs. She enjoys reading and loves all things Myles (her son)!!
